Misfits by G. A. Davis Brings Small-Town Science, Secret Invention, and Outsider Heroism to Young Readers This December
Washington, Utah Nov 17, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - Utah-based novelist G. A. Davis will release Misfits on December 3, 2025. The debut delivers a sharp, heartfelt story for readers whove ever felt out of place, chased belonging, or tinkered with ideas long after midnight.
Set in a small town humming with secrets, Misfits follows a band of inventive teens who enter a summer science contest only to uncover hidden technology and a government coverup. What begins as a simple project spirals into a high stakes mystery. Their only tools are their ingenuity, a few half finished inventions, and the loyalty that binds outsiders together.
Readers who gravitate toward Gary Paulsens survival instincts, the nostalgic tension of Stranger Things, and classic coming of age fiction will find the same mix of grit, humor, and wonder in Daviss world. The novel balances cosmic-scale discoveries with the everyday trials of friendship, insecurity, and identity.
Davis, raised in rural New England and now writing from Utah, draws on a lifetime of observing quiet places and unconventional people. The result is a story that treats missteps as opportunities, highlights empathy over fear, and plants a hint of the extraordinary in familiar landscapes.
Misfits is about friendship, courage, and carving out your own space when the world doesnt hand you one, Davis says. Its written for dreamers, rebels, and anyone curious enough to look a little deeper.
